From January 2019 to November 2021, I worked with the players and coaching staff of the Eastern Illinois University football team. In my role as Data and Analytics Coordinator, I was typically used as a numbers and project-oriented worker, handling a variety of tasks. Below I detail some of my responsibilities over my time with the program.
  • Film Analysis and Advance Reports
    • Scouted the offensive and defensive personnel of each opponent, writing detailed reports including player rotations, potential advantages, and personnel deployment
  • Recruiting Support​
    • Created weekly communication plans for coaches, rotating calls between staff members on the basis of recruiting area, player position, and recruiting priorities
    • Produced transfer portal updates featuring new entrants on a weekly basis
    • ​Evaluated high school players in tertiary recruiting areas, with an emphasis on Dallas, Fort Worth, North Alabama, and North Mississippi​
  • Statistical Analysis and Historical Studies
    • Produced a variety of reports and studies intended to improve the team's success
      • ​​Self-scouting and internal analysis
        • ​Quarterback release times to aid in measuring player performance
        • Special teams charts for kicking and punting
        • Drive success of the EIU defense in 2019 and correlations with 6 major categories of statistics
      • Opponent scouting and external analysis
        • Running back and wide receiver alignment tendencies of key personnel
        • Explosive play dependency of opponents
      • Recruiting and General Studies
        • System of formulas to standardize player statistics, measuring both efficiency and consistency
